There.WAS. an fe in there, but the sohc carby 82ps one just like in my ute. Ie, crap and with a small box no doubt.
It certainly wasnt turbo though. Fred.Australia got an EFI version of the FE SOHC in the 929, as well as a turbo version of the FE very similar to the central fuel injected version in the GC 626.they only sold about half a dozen though, I dont think the gearbox was any different but I could be wrong.good luck finding one, but they turn up from time to time. It wasnt very popular as it needed premium unleaded fuel (RON 95) which was difficult to buy in 1986. The confusion gets worse if you consider the Luce, which is right similar to the 929. The 86-90 Luce had an optional high compression F2 variant in Europe. Pratt and whitney pt6 training. It was a high compression, 9.2 to 1, 12 SOHC, with 136 ps to the wheels. If you could get a Luce manual transmission.

It.might. fit. Dutch had suggested sourcing those pistons to GtDreamDXbudget, in the quest to make a high compression F2. Gtdreamdxbudget choose to go with custom 10:1 pistons, and has been rewarded for that choice in his Autox shenanigans. You probably won't have much luck finding a 929 sold with a manual trasnmission, but a Luce manual transmission, you should be able to get from Europe. Those europeans like their manual transmissions.
